When and where is the Book Fair?
In May, Thursday to Monday, in the Lingotto Fiere halls (Via Nizza 294) and the Oval, open 10am to 8pm and until 9pm on Friday and Saturday. The 2026 edition closed with a record 254,000 visitors; the next runs from 13 to 17 May 2027, with Catalan literature as guest of honour and Lazio as guest region. The programme mixes book presentations, lectures, meetings with Italian and international authors, spaces for children and teenagers, and the "Salone Off" spread across the city.
How do you get to the Lingotto from Pino Torinese?
About twenty minutes by car outside rush hour (an estimate to check on Google Maps): you drop towards the Po and follow Corso Unità d'Italia to the Lingotto, which has paid car parks. You can also park and take the metro, Lingotto stop, a few minutes' walk from the halls. Bus 30 links Pino Torinese with the centre.
Is it better to sleep in Turin or outside?
It depends on your budget and whether you drive. The centre puts you within walking distance of the Salone Off and the nightlife, but during fair week prices rise sharply and parking inside the restricted zone is a problem. Outside the city, in Moncalieri, Nichelino or up on the hill, you spend less, park free and reach the halls in a quarter of an hour.
What is there to do in the evening during the fair?
The Salone Off brings talks, readings and concerts to bookshops, clubs and theatres across the city, often free. May in Turin is also the month of terraces above the Po, of the Murazzi, of the first long evenings in Piazza Vittorio.
