A match in Turin: where to stay for the Allianz Stadium and the Olimpico Grande Torino

Where are Turin's stadiums?

Allianz Stadium, home of Juventus since 2011, stands on the north-western outskirts in the Continassa area, next to the J Museum devoted to the club's history. Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino is Torino's ground, named after the team lost at Superga in 1949; it is in the Santa Rita district, near the Parco Cavalieri di Vittorio Veneto. From the hill the second is quicker to reach, while for the Allianz you cross the city.

How do you get to the stadium from the hill?

By car, leaving plenty of time: on match days traffic around the stadiums builds sharply in the two hours before kick-off, and the nearest car parks fill early. A handy alternative is to leave the car in the centre or at a park-and-ride and continue on GTT public transport, checking the lines running for the event on the operator's website. For the evening return with a group, a taxi or a shared car with driver means nobody has to drive.

What to do in Turin the day before or after the match?

For Juventus fans: the J Museum next to the stadium, with the trophies and the club's history, and the stadium tours run by the club.

For Torino fans: the trip up to Superga and the Grande Torino memorial, a quarter of an hour from the B&B, and the Museum of the Grande Torino and the Granata Legend in Grugliasco.

For everyone: the Egyptian Museum, the Mole and its Cinema Museum, an aperitivo under the arcades, and at sunset the view from Superga or the Monte dei Cappuccini.

When to book?

The Serie A calendar fixes exact days and kick-off times only a few weeks ahead: keep an eye on the league and club websites and book your stay as soon as the matchday is known. For big games and European nights, dates fill quickly both at the stadium and in accommodation.
